20 Feb / Happy Presidents’ Day

Today we celebrate Presidents’ Day. The day was originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington. The holiday became known as Presidents’ Day after the government moved it as part of the 1971 Uniform Monday Holiday Act. While more narrowly viewed as a celebration of the lives of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, Presidents’ Day is considered a day to recognize and remember all U.S. presidents past and present.

“My dream is of a place and a time where America will once again be seen as the last best hope of earth.” – Abraham Lincoln

“Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.”
– George Washington

“We stand at the birth of a new millennium, ready to unlock the mysteries of space, to free the earth from the miseries of disease, and to harness the energies, industries and technologies of tomorrow. A new national pride will stir ourselves, lift our sights and heal our divisions.”
– Donald Trump
